How to Clean Stainless Steel Cookware
Whether Stainless Steel is a staple in your cookware collection or if you have a couple of reliable pieces, this guide will provide you with the best techniques for cleaning stainless steel, maintaining its shiny finish and keeping it looking new through everyday use.
Clean Your Stainless Steel in Four Easy Steps
Although our Stainless Steel cookware is dishwasher safe, we recommend handwashing for the best results. Follow these steps to ensure your pots, pans, and other stainless steel essentials stay mark-free and shine like new.
Allow your cookware to cool
Allow Stainless Steel to cool to room temperature before cleaning. A hot Stainless Steel pan should never be plunged into cold water. Once the pan has cooled down, clean up the residue as soon as possible. If residue is left for an extended period of time it can become tougher to remove and may cause damage to the surface of the pan.
Gently scrub in hot, soapy water
Using a soft nylon pad, brush, or sponge, gently scrub off the residue on the Stainless Steel in hot, soapy water. For cookware with a non-stick coating, use non-stick cleaning pads. If your pan is uncoated, you can use any gentle cleaning agent.
Soak again if necessary
For any stubborn, stuck-on food you cannot remove, try filling the Stainless Steel casserole or pan with warm, soapy water or baking soda and water and allow to soak. You can even put the pan back on the stovetop and boil the water for 10-15 minutes. Once the residue has soften repeat the second step of cleaning.
Rinse and dry immediately
Once your Stainless Steel is clean, rinse and dry immediately to prevent water spots. If you notice any water spots after cleaning your Stainless Steel you can wipe with lemon juice or vinegar to remove the spots and bring back shine.
